An Endorsement

The following letter appeared in the May 15, 2014 Cape Cod Times entitled, "Elect Rebecca Putnam as a Falmouth selectman." Thank you, Mr. Drolette!

May 15, 2014
I'm writing to endorse Rebecca Putnam for selectman.
Rebecca has experience working as part of a team to lead organizations, just as our Board of Selectmen must work as a team to lead our town. She has served on the board of directors of several nonprofit organizations, including the local Kiwanis Club, and most recently joined the board of the Falmouth Fireworks Committee.
Rebecca is not new to town government. In recent years, Falmouth has elected selectmen with little or no government experience, sometimes with embarrassing results. As a veteran of town meetings, Rebecca has an institutional knowledge of our town government, how it works, and why we do what we do. Her presence on the board would help it avoid repeating mistakes of the past.
Rebecca has project experience. I've personally worked with her on several developments and can attest to her understanding of projects, including establishing milestones, and keeping costs under control.
The Board of Selectmen is Falmouth's ombudsman. If we approve the water and sewer projects, we'll need someone on the board who knows what questions to ask and where the pitfalls lie.
I can think of no better candidate for selectman than Rebecca Putnam.
Joseph Drolette
East Falmouth
